Kira Nova is an artist, theater director, and educator known for creating immersive, absurd, and hallucinatory performances. Described by Artforum as “Too slapstick to be genuine, too genuine to be satire, too unnerving to be empty-calorie entertainment.”

Her work has been featured at international venues such as the Gwangju Biennale, Centre Georges Pompidou, MoMA PS1, MET Breuer, and The Kitchen. With 30+ years of stage experience—beginning as a child clown in a circus—Nova’s immersive productions combine circus, physical theater, and unconventional storytelling.

She has created five solo shows and directed “Alligators! Experimental Comedy Lab”with Reggie Watts and Michael Portnoy. Nova’s unique approach to performance integrates elements from Japanese Butoh and therapeutic techniques, creating transformative, sensorial experiences for her audiences.

In addition to performing, Nova has taught for over 12 years at institutions like Malmö Art Academy, Columbia University, and Banff Centre.

Nicolas Amarto is a Chief Lighting Technician with over 25 years of industry experience, starting in 1997. He has designed lighting for feature films, theater shows, and commercials. In addition to co-owning a motion picture equipment rental company, Nicolas is known for his expertise and passion in lighting design, making him one of the most resourceful and innovative technicians in the field. The lighting concept for The Idiots was developed in conversation with Nicolas, who brings knowledge of how lighting cues affect the brain and create illusions through strategically timed changes and blackouts.

Justin Patterson, is Canadien visual and sound artist renowned for his innovative approach to both sound and sculpture. Known for inventing instruments and creating entirely new sounds, Justin’s work delves into mysticism and experiments with sonic frequencies that induce altered states of consciousness. His background in interdisciplinary art, complements his deep fascination with the ways sound can transport audiences to alternate realities.

In The Idiots, Justin will compose the musical score, crafting immersive soundscapes that enhance the psychedelic nature of the production.

Drawing on his extensive studies of sound and its effects on the human mind, he will integrate experimental instruments and groundbreaking sonic techniques to guide the audience through a transformative auditory journey.

Scout LaRue Willis, daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, is a multi-talented artist with a background in acting, music, dance, and physical theater. As a singer-songwriter, her music blends folk, indie, and country influences, and she has performed at venues like SXSW. For The Idiots, she will serve as director assistant, choreographer, musical score supervisor, actress, and vocalist. Scout brings a deep understanding of emotional dynamics from her music and acting, making her an ideal fit for creating the immersive, psychedelic atmosphere central to this production. Her work in experimental settings, alongside her extensive performing experience, will enrich the audience's transformative journey.

Robert James Smith is an actor, model, and businessman with a dynamic career that spans film, fashion, and entrepreneurship. Known for his commanding presence, Robert brings a unique combination of artistic talent and business expertise. He has an extensive background in construction management and site coordination, making him a key figure in the realization of The Idiots immersive set.

In The Idiots, Robert will serve as both production overseer, co-producing the show while managing set construction and implementation. His business acumen ensures the project’s financial stability, and his diverse skill set makes him an invaluable part of the production team.
